Health educators respond to the health needs of communities everywhere.  Education and job experiences have inspired health educator Siah Fried to create two health education programs, called Healthy Starts and Balancing Academic, Athletic and Social Pressures, which are based on helping families identify their needs to become more physically healthy and emotionally balanced.  Her approach is to educate individuals and their communities through various methodologies in order to achieve these goals utilizing the tools and technologies available in today's world.

Redefining Family Blog Thought of Day:

My daughter is a sophomore in high school but feels the pressure to get into college.  She 's self motivated and a hard worker yet maintains a job,  good grades, dance and a nice social life.  In other words, she's healthy, happy and balanced.  She found out it was sophomore wknd at an out of state school. After some convincing,  we agreed to take her.

We didn't know what to expect and actually all of us were wondering if we were wasting our time and money to go so far to just visit a campus that may be an option for her.  We just decided to follow her lead she had done the research on her future so far.

Turns out a lesson for me I'd like to share with other parents.  Watching her light up about her future and become so excited about college was a joy. It takes the stress out of this process to let her take reins and be in charge of her future. I have heard nothing but stress and anxiety and other horrific feelings surrounding the college search. It shouldn't be an awful process . It is for far too many families and mostly kids. Don't deny them the right to follow their heart and be excited for their future.
